Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Thank you so much! If you don't mind handling real fish, it's very fun to do.

Artist's Description

This is simply a straight ahead fish print of a Queen Snapper. It was caught off the West Coast of Florida near Bradenton. A friend's son caught it for me. I took pleasure in working with this very streamline and sleek fish, enjoying the fine lines of the torso and tail fin. I used coral ink for the impression and coral colored acrylic paint for the eye. I printed on plain white rice paper. Fish printing, Gyotaku, is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. It was originally used by fishermen to record their catches and now it has become an art form.

About Adrienne Dye

Adrienne Dye

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Adrienne began training in the arts in general: fine art, music, drama, coming away with a Bachelors degree in music. It’s been a long detour from artist to musician then back again. Beginning with portraiture then animals and landscapes, she explored the possibilities with watercolor and oils before finally settling on acrylics. Her interests have expanded yet again to digital art and even fish prints. It's just plain fun to peel the paper from the fish, revealing a new impression. Whatever the medium, my goal is to bring out the essence of each subject. They all have their own story and I derive great satisfaction from rendering their special characteristics, which are always...
