I love the Fall season and along with that Halloween. It's the start of exciting times: cooler temperatures with the wind whipping up leaves into the air, fall colors, and great anticipation of activities and celebrations yet to come during the third quarter of the year. Here, I have painted a raven just touching down on a very crooked and gnarled branch of a tree. It is a full moon appearing, framed, and then hidden by passing clouds. I chose only orange for most of the painting to hint at Halloween. Indeed, the effect is a little eerie, which is what I was going for. I imagine this could be the very raven cawing "beware, beware!" from the story of Sleepy Hollow.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Adrienne began training in the arts in general: fine art, music, drama, coming away with a Bachelors degree in music. It’s been a long detour from artist to musician then back again. Beginning with portraiture then animals and landscapes, she explored the possibilities with watercolor and oils before finally settling on acrylics.
