Painting - Black Ink & Acrylic Wash On White Rice Paper
Description
Here is a print of the head of the redfish. The support was black allowing it to show through the white rice paper. I thought this coupled with the image of just the head created an interesting effect. The print was made using black ink with a thin layer of yellow ochre and burnt sienna acrylic paint for the head and fins. Fish printing, Gyotaku, is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. It was originally used by fishermen to record their catches and now it has become an art form.
