This is a redfish caught off the west coast of Florida near Bradenton. I made the impression using silver ink on black rice paper. The eye was rendered using touches of white acrylic paint. I liked the pure and simple effect of one color for this piece. Fish printing, Gyotaku, is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. It was originally used by fishermen to record their catches and now it has become an art form.
