Description
On a bright sunny Florida Day, these two pelicans, an adult and juvenile, were perched at the docks of the St. Petersburg Pier. Tourists buy a pail full of fish to feed the hoards nonchalantly hanging about the bait house. Watch out though. They can be overwhelming with their wings flapping around in their zeal to get an easy meal. They are excellent fishers themselves, coasting low over the water then flying high, folding their wings up before dive bombing into the water after their prey.
