Description
Often I will work out a composition and colors on the computer before committing it to canvas. I was very happy with the way the sketch was evolving so I decided to complete it as a finished work. Here is a familiar friend of Great Smokey Mountains National Park, our beautiful black bear. I have seen them many times ambling down our wooded side yard very close to our cabin. Of course, they are unaware of the arbitrary boundaries of the Park. Last year I saw a mother with three cubs. Wonder what I'll see this year?

Several times during the course of the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I will see these beautiful black bears so familiar to the Smokey Mountains. Of course, these amazing creatures aren't aware that they have wandered into my neighborhood. Last year, I saw a mother and her three cubs ambling down our side yard. Wonder what I'll see this year?
